Friend from China:)

I had good time with my friend who visited NY from China but she's Japanese!!
We went to Chelsea market first.
And I found interesting combination!!!
Unagi Kabayaki (BBQ eel) and "Woopie Pies" were on the same shelf!!! lol

Also I found cute Lobster claws... they were just claws but it looked really cute for me... maybe because of color?

And after dinner we were looking for the place where we can have tea.
Last time I went there I could have only tea but this time it was dinner time so we couldn't sit and have tea without ordering food.... so we changed the place and were walking around Greenwich Village.
And we found really nice cafe.
We didn't try food there but atmosphere was perfect for me:)
Cafe Minerva
And I had cupcakes that I made at home. But we couldn't eat all of them and I didn't want to waste them.
So I gave them to staff. I should've asked them to give me feed back but I didn't... lol I hope they enjoyed my cupcakes:) And maybe I will go back sometime in near future. Because I want to try their food too!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

This morning I found the sky was so beautiful.
I didn't want to work on Thanksgiving day but when I saw that sky, I thought the sky was also celebrating Thanksgiving morning:) So I could go to work with happy feeling:)

Grilled mozzarella cheese salad

The sight from the office....

I had a chance to visit my friend's new office in Dumbo.
This is the sight from his office...
OMG!! If I could work in like this office, I can work and stay until night easily... :)

That's why I love NY!!

I think I wrote same title before... didn't I?
But when I was walking around my neighborhood I found these!!

Brooklyn Industries + "Good morning" in Japanese :)

Ask everyone to bring your dogs to the bar... Never happened in Japan...lol
I'm not sure my dog Sheena wants to go to bar though... but it's so nice to go with your dog to everywhere!!!

Like a canvas!!

After busy day at work I was walking back to home and looked up sky...
Today's sky was interesting:)

Julie Powell

Today I went to Housing Works Bookstore Cafe for the event of Julie Powell who wrote "Julie and Julia".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozRK7VXQl-k
I liked that book so it was really interesting to see herself.
It was the event of promoting her book "Cleaving".
http://blogs.villagevoice.com/forkintheroad/2009/11/review_cleaving.php
This book about her experience of her 6 months training at butcher in NY.... ummmm really interesting.
And in this event she read a few parts of this book for us.
Her way of  expression was so direct and detail especially when she was working in the butcher.
So I won't recommend to read this book if you are vegan or vegetarian who really can't touch animal products but if not I think it's good to know about what we are eating. Even you are vegan or vegetarian it's good to know what your friends are eating.
And there is not only the story in the butcher but also about the travel to other country that she did after butcher training.

So I haven't read this book yet but it must be interesting to read this.

The impression of Julie Powell was a little bit different from the book but I could tell how she is strong, she has her own thoughts and opinions and especially how she loves food!!

Mexican!!

Yesterday my Mexican friend who is coworker took us to her favorite place to eat Mexican food.
It was first time to go upper than 125th street for me.
Subway is running on the ground so it was nice to see sight from the window and it was really nice weather!!

And food was soooooo good!!
We tried tacos and enchiladas. Also we tried Mexican drink which is cinnamon flavor milk. It was sweet but it was good with spicy food.
They had enchilada with green, yellow and red source. I tried green one. It wasn't that much spicy but had nice balance of flavor.
I think it was the best enchiladas in my life!! ummmmm, yum:)
