KAMBI

And after the comedy show we went to eat ramen noodle to KAMBI.
http://www.newyorkramen.com/
When I go to ramen shop in NY I always thing they are fancier than in Japan.
This Kambi was also clean and neat place with weird pictures.
There were many choices in the menu for example, you can choose not only soup from miso, shoyu, tonkotsu but also you can choose the thickness of noodle from thick, thin and curly.
I got special noodle which has many vegetable on top with basic soup which was tonkotsu (pork bone broth) and thin noodle. This tonkotsu soup wasn't heavy like Kyushu ramen and it was not greasy and it was really light but flavorful. And there was a lot of vegetable on top and I loved it. When my family make ramen noodle at home we always put a lots of stir fry of vegetable and it was like that.
I was so surprised that their ramen was so good. Usually ramen noodle in NY has weird noodle which is like rubber but here wasn't like that.
The portion was definitely American size but it was enough good to finish it!!!
And also what was good for me is they served free hot tea after the meal.
Which is normal in Japan but here in NY it is rare. And drinking tea after dinner is my favorite moment.
So I enjoyed it a lot. And I had two cups of tea after that big ramen noodle!!! lol
And plus that it was really good to have good ramen noodle with fun talking.
It was really nice seeing you again and catching up, Jon and Helen!!
Thank you so much for joining me to your night:)

The P.I.T

After shopping at Jersey Garden I was walking from port authority station to south with wondering where I should eat dinner. And when I get to K-town I bumped into my friends who were trying to meet again soon for long time. It was really happy surprising. And they were on their way to comedy club and I didn't have any plan after that so I just joined them.
For me it was first time to go to see comedy because I always think the most difficult thing to understand in English is politics and comedy. But it was really good chance to try my first comedy club.
The P.I.T.
It was bar with small show venue.
As I expected first group was so difficult to understand. Because many people were laughing out loud and it was so hard to listen what they were saying. But the second group was more simple and I could understand more than first one. But it was so fun to be there even it was difficult. And everyone was laughing so hard. That made me laugh... lol

Jersey Gardens

Today I went to Jersey Gardens for shopping with my friend.
http://www.jerseygardens.com/
It was first time to go there and I was so excited. It was so fun to see many shops there in big mall and it is outlet mall so most of them were so cheap. In NY we don't have big mall like that so it reminded me Wood Field where I used to go almost every weekend with my parents when we were in Chicago. So just walking around in the mall made me happy. But I only found one shirt to buy. I was a little bit disappointed not getting many things there but after that I found the reason!!!
Because there was good surprise waiting for me after that. And for that I should not have big shopping bag with me... lol

El Paso Taqueria

The other day after work my coworkers took me to nice Mexican restaurant in upper east side.
El Paso Taqueria
http://www.elpasotaqueria.com/menu.html
We were so starving when we got there so we started with guacamole which was really good.
We could choose how spicy it was and we chose medium but it wasn't spicy at all. So we finished it at once before we got margarita:)
And we got fajita and tacos. They were all good. Fajita was on hot plate and it was so hot and juicy. And tacos was good with green hot sauce and chorizo was so good. Before I prefer chicken tacos but it was really good!!!
And the last thing we had was banana crepe in custard cream with vanilla ice cream. That was so good. Combination of warm crepe and cold ice cream was awesome:)
It was really good to have early dinner after busy work together.
Thank you so much Nidia and Fanny!!!

Google+

I just started using Google+ the other day.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google%2B
And just after that Facebook started new style and I don't like it.
Should I switch to Google+?
But it's difficult to use enough both of them and  I've been using Facebook almost 3 years. So I have all of pictures there. So I don't want to switch though...
Now still I don't know how to use Google+ so I'll play with it and see how it works:)
Which do you prefer? And how you will use both of them or switch?
I'm using Google blog so it is better to use Google+? But I don't know how to connect this to my blog...
Ummm... it will take time to know how to use it.
Please let me know your opinion!!! :)

Shooting in NY.

When I walk around my neighborhood, these days I found many shooting notices.
I usually see actual shooting both in Brooklyn and Manhattan but I didn't see notice them before to announce their shutting down road.
Then I thought about Japan, if they shut down one road for movie shooting all day, what will happen in Japan... ummmm It's gonna be difficult!!! But here in NY, small films, big films, there are shooting everywhere!!
I remember that what I saw big shooting for the first time in NY was Japanese commercial of Softbank. And there was Tsuyoshi Kusanagi from SMAP and when I was taking pictures as usual he talked to me.
If I was in Japan he would never talk to me but same Japanese in different country made it happened!!
That was good surprise for me.

Also a few days ago I saw "HITCH" on TV. I saw this movie before a couple of times but it was first time to see after I moved to NY. So this time I could watch it different way. And there was rice pudding place where my friend took me before in the movie. And Sara was living close to dance studio I went before. This is one of fun things to live in NY:)

Now new TV season will start soon and there are so many advertisements for new shows in TV commercial, posters in stations and magazines. So I was thinking what I want to watch this season and one of drama I wanted to see was "Pan Am". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMEske3ALcU
And the other day I found notice for shooting in neighborhood of our shop.
I couldn't go to see their shooting but I can't wait to see the show and see how they show our neighborhood!!!

And this film seems this one!!
My roommate told me about this article!! Sounds cool:)

Megu in NYC

Today I had a chance to go to Megu Midtown for lunch with my friends.
http://www.megurestaurants.com/
They still had restaurant week menu so it's too expensive for me to go for dinner but for lunch I could try.

This restaurant was in one of Trump towers and it was in front of United Nations Center.
It was really fancy restaurant but when I checked the website I think one in tribecca is fancier than the one we went.
The food was good but I think you need to choose carefully. Tastes were all good but portion was really different. So you should choose with thinking how much you can eat. lol
When you see the pictures you will know what I mean:)
I had madai salad and cod yuzu miso and madai salad has crunchy texture and nice flavor of dressing. So I really liked it. And cod was good too. It was juicy and good to eat with white rice!!
Now it's difficult to grill fish here in NY so that was what I wanted!!
But next time, I will try Bento platter and go there without eating breakfast!! :)
And desserts were really good too. Ice cream was the best for us:)

hamachi carpaccio

madai salad

Bento platter

sushi combination

cod yuzu miso

Green tea crepe and ice cream

Green tea crepe and cheese cake

CALEXICO

The other day I could finally go to calexico in Red Hook.
http://www.calexicocart.com/page/page/4364476.htm
My friend Stefanie told me many times about there and I really wanted to try but I didn't have chance.
But when we saw US open men's final together at her place, after that amazing game, we went there to have some good mexican food.
I liked food of course and also I liked the interior of restaurant.
There were several types of spice things at the counter and we could try pumpkin spicy dip, pickled vegetable, green salsa and so on... Everything was really good:)
It is a little bit far from the train station but it's worth walking there. And after my stomach was satisfied it was good to walk in cool night to go home.

Beach Volleyball Party

Last night our One Girl Cookies closed shop earlier than usual and went to Brooklyn Bridge Park to play volleyball. There was nice sand volley ball court there.
http://www.brooklynbridgepark.org/go/activities-and-events/pier-6-sand-volleyball-courts

We are always too busy in the kitchen to talk with everyone so I really like to go out with everyone once in a while. I haven't played volleyball for long time I think more than 10 years. And even 10 years ago I was so bad at this so I was kind of nervous. But when we started to play, it was so much fun!! Just chase the ball and hit the ball. lol We didn't have any rules just we enjoyed.
And also it felt good running around on the sand. And dived in the sand!! (Actually I didn't dive though... ) But when I got home in my pocket there was sand. So I needed to take off my pants at entrance... I was glad that my roommate was not there that night!! lol

Beach in front of Manhattan view

Potato salad

Hot dogs and etc.

It's getting dark.

There were some super shots!!
