Like Crazy

I saw this movie today.
Like Crazy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-ZV-bwZmBw
This was the story between American boy and English girl.
There was romantic story but also for me visa issue was more than that.
Fortunately I knew that how visa is strict in this country so I didn't have any problem like her but when I searched about visa I saw many stories like this. But when you follow the rules, it won't be happened. So checking your visa status and knowing your status is important!!!
The ending was unexpected but that makes this movie real for me.
But some of audiences didn't like this ending so their reaction was kind of interesting.
Even who never thinks about living abroad or getting visa in US or in other countries will know how it is serious for us who is living in other countries when you see this movie.

Jason Mraz at Carnegie Hall 2011

Last Friday night I found out Jason would be in NY this week and tried to find a ticket.
I always go his concert when he comes to Osaka but after I moved to NY I couldn't have chance to go to his concert because he was traveling around the world!!!
And finally I got that information but when I searched his ticket on internet they said $400 or $500!! If so I couldn't pay that much so I just went to website of Carnegie Hall that night and couldn't believe but they were all sold out 3 shows but the one seat!!! And I just bought that last ticket without thinking time or date.
After I purchased I found it was from 3 pm on 11/25. And after that I went back to the same Carnegie Hall website but I couldn't find any seat left there all 3 shows... it was really the last seat!!!!! What a lucky I am!!!
But the problem was that I always work until 3 pm on Friday. So I asked chef that I want to leave early but that day it was the day after Thanksgiving so there was less people than usual. So I was just hoping that it wouldn't be busy.... And it wasn't!!!
So I could leave work today early and could be there 30 min before.
And I found there were so many kids like my nephew. In the Carnegie Hall, many kids were running around and babies were crying. I thought it's weird so I asked one of audience in front of me why there were so many kids, and she told me that it's family show!!!
Wow I didn't know that. But sounds fun!!! :)

When the show started, Jason sang many songs for kids and also his songs too. I wish I could listen his songs more but still it was so fun to see his dancing spiders or making funny songs.
Also there were guests who seems like "Utano Oniisan and onesan" (=singing person on kids show in Japan). They seems really popular to kids.
AND there was one more guest who was a friend of Jason. He sang a song with Jason and he said how he was happy to be on the stage at Carnegie Hall, singing with Jason and singing in front of lots of audience.... and he asked Jason to let his girl friend dance with him on the stage. I thought it might be awkward but when she came on the stage...... " Will you marry me???"
I saw this kind of scene only in the movie and they did just in front of me on the stage of Carnegie Hall!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!! That was nice moment....
But this all of family show things and this proposal thing made me feel like to have my own family too!!!
Does Jason need wife who graduated vegan cooking school?? lol

And what I was so happy to be there was I could see and listen his live "Rainbow Connection"!!!!!!!!!!
I was crying while he was singing it.
How peaceful his voice is.

It was really interesting experience to see Jason with many kids. And it was fun to see how they dance with his songs and enjoying this show.
And I'm hoping I will enjoy music with my family together in the future!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much Jason!!!
And come to Japan sometime and do this family show again!! My brother had new baby last weekend and they should see you show too!!! :) And when I get my own family I will go to your family show!!! :)
I don't know when it will be though:) haha

Scary Jason!!!

They engaged on the stage!!

And I got set list of picture. I tried to get one but it was too late!!! :(
But I'm glad to find the guy who got this set list:)

Raul Midon at Highline Ballroom

Last night I went to Raul Midon's concert at Highline Ballroom.
http://raulmidon.com/
This was second time to go his concert and last time was at Blue Note.
Maybe because of the venue and audience, last time he sang songs but he didn't talk much.
But this time, he sang songs so beautifully, funny, energetic and also he explained how he made the song, how to practice his magic instruments, why he started music and so on. I didn't know he was such a funny guy.
And I went there by myself so I could seat front table so I could see him just in front of me.
And how his hands moved was just unbelievable!!! His hands were like magic. They moved faster than feather of bees!!! And he made sounds of trumpet, playing guitar with guitar sounds and bass sounds at the same time!! Or he sang or made sounds of trumpet, play the guitar and play the percussion at the same time!!! He is crazy!!!
And when his friends told him "You are genius." He said he told them "just practicing!!!" He's just amazing!!!
Also he performed piano for the first time on stage in his life!! How lucky I am to see it!!
He was a little bit nervous about it and it was different from guitar performance but he was amazing even with piano... I liked both his guitar and piano:) And of course singing.

And what I enjoy there every time is conversation with the person at the same table.
Last night I could have good time even waiting time because I could talk with someone who was at the same table. I always enjoy this new meeting.

Knitting

Last my days off I was knitting for a while because of rainy weather.
I hadn't been knitting for more than 2 years and this time I brought back some tools from Japan so I started. But once I started it was so fun and I finished one hat in two days.
So I went to get new yarn today and I found there are so many Japanese knitting products there.
When I started knitting I tried some plastic needles but they were so difficult to use because they slipped a lot.
So I prefer using bamboo one.
And I didn't think I could get the same needles here but today I found exact the same needles!!
Takumi http://www.clover-usa.com/category/453577/Takumi_Bamboo_Knitting_Needles
It was happy surprising!!!
But I will wait to use new yarn till next rainy days off!! Because once I start it, I won't move from sofa... which is not good!!!

This is what I made this time.

These are "Takumi" bland!!!

Dominique Ansel Bakery

Today I went to SOHO and was walking around in the rain.
And I found new bakery on Spring St.
Dominique Ansel Bakery
http://dominiqueansel.com/
It was very clean and cute pastry shop and unfortunately it was raining but when you go there on sunny day, you can have tea or coffee and pastries out side too.
When I got home and searched about this bakery, it was opened just 2 weeks ago.
I was lucky to find such a cute place soon after they opened.
I tried to get Croissant aux amandes as usual but they were sold out already!!! It was just around 1pm.
I should go back there and try it soon.
So I tried Cannelle!! And it was really good:)

Also what I enjoyed there was from the cafe we can see in the kitchen.
When I was there just caramelized walnuts were came out from the big ball and all the cafe smelled them... it was like a heaven... lol

I hadn't gone there so long time maybe more than 10 years even it's close to my parents house.
But it was so fun to walk there from the station.
You can see old Japan there.
