Sheena

In June, I lost one of my family members, Sheena.
She was 16 years and 8 months old.
It took for a while for me to talk about her after lost but now I'm ready to talk about her and I really want to.
I had always wanted to have dog in my childhood but I couldn't because we were moving a lot and also we were at apartment. But after many many years when I was 13 years old, finally my family got Sheena.
She was the one who was awake in her brothers and sisters when she was picked for my family.
That was the destiny. And she became a member of Katos.
First she had big ears folded, she was so shy and she never let us hold her long time even when she was a baby. And after a few months her one ear stood up, and a few weeks later other side of ear stood up too. She liked to walk around our neighborhood. When she run in the park, she controlled with her tail as handle. She could run fast and she liked to but she never liked to play with ball. She chase sometimes but she didn't bring it back to us. She liked to be in the sun. Sometimes I was worried of heat since her body was really hot. But she didn't care, just kept sleeping in the sun.
She had long legs and nice muscle on her chest. She was really beautiful dog even many people thought she was a boy.
She liked girls with school uniforms because of me, she liked cucumber, dikon radish, and rice.
She hated shampoo and something slide like skateboard.
She was always there for me and my family. Whenever I got home she was always at the entrance with waggling her tail. When her nose had some dirt, that means she hid something in the ground. Sometimes it was a piece of her treats, and one time it was Shimajiro doll of our neighbor boy.
When she hid something in the ground, she cover her favorite things so carefully with dirt with her nose. I really liked to see how she treated them. She was really unique girl. She made us laugh a lot.
I've missed her a lot after I moved here. And after her past away, I haven't gone back to Japan yet. So I'm not sure how I will feel to see our yard without her. And I miss her so bad and I will miss her.
But she had long healthy life. And she past away when my mom was playing music with niko.
I think that was the perfect for her to leave.
I was so lucky that you were the first dog I had in my life. Thank you for being there always.
I love you so much, Sheena!!
Rest in peace...:)

I just went to this restaurant with my coworker.
It was very French and I enjoyed there a lot.
When I got there there was not many people but after 12:30 suddenly the restaurant was packed with people. I guess it's because of restaurant week and location. It seems most of them were having business lunch.
I didn't have the "FRENCH" cuisine for a while and this reminded me lunch at Le Cordon Bleu for employees. Before I didn't know much about French food but I learned a lot from that lunch.
I miss those days sometimes:)
And what made me happy was they served one whole baguette for each table. And butter was from "echire"!!! This baguette with butter made my day!! lol It was really good one.
Of course I enjoyed rest of course too:) I love restaurant week!!!

Telepan

The other day I went to Telepan to celebrate my friend's birthday.
Telepan
http://www.telepan-ny.com/welcome-to-telepan
It was first day of restaurant week!! Yay!!
It was first time to try the restaurant but one of my friends who was working for school lunch had worked with chef Bill Telepan and she told me how amazing he was.
So I always wanted to go there. And finally I did!!!
Even it was Monday night, it was hard to get the reservation.

It was fancier than I thought.

This beets salad was so good. Sweet and sour, many kinds of textures... yum!!

pepper and tomato soup

This fish was so good too. There was two choices for seafood and this was our waiter's recommendation. What was the name of fish??? Oh no,,, I forgot!!
That's why I should update blog sooner... so sad...

This chicken was good too. Just chicken?? no. the flavor was amazing!!

And the dessert. I ordered peach parfait.
They poured prosecco in the glass... that was so refreshing and so good.
I was too excited to see it and my friend's plate and forgot to take a picture!! lol

And, happy birthday!!!
That was crispy cream... it was warm and nice.

Then american style macaroon came with check.
I was so happy there for everything!!!

Trip to Beacon

This weekend I had three days off!! Yay!!
I wanted to do something different so I went to Beacon for the first time to visit Dia Beacon museum.
http://www.diaart.org/sites/main/beacon
I took metro north from Grand Central Station. Just taking different train in the nature was so relaxing.
The museum was a few minutes walk from the station. It was in the middle of no where. From the front I couldn't tell how bid it was but once I got in there, it was so spacious.
I really liked to be in that space. Just enjoy walking around, enjoy the arts, nature and also it was interesting to see the people there.
There were many families with babies. And babies were so interested in those arts. The arts there were so simple and for them it might be easy to feel them. It was really interesting to see how they enjoy arts there.
After the museum, I walked around. It was cute little town. There were some interesting shops. But it was on Monday some of them were closed unfortunately. I would love to go back there in different season. Maybe fall or spring!!
