Today I started to make Kombucha for the first time!!!
Last weekend my friend gave me Kombucha mother and today I just got to be ready for glass jar, tea, and sugar... ummmm I can't wait to taste first one but how long should I wait... I need to do many experiments to know how it makes drink.... really interesting...
For Japanese people!!
This is not Kobucha but Kombucha!! Take a look for wikipedia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kombucha
In Japanese, it's called "Kochakinoko"(Mushroom tea)
And for non Japanese people!!
We have Kobucha(Kombucha) in Japan which is drink made from Kombu seaweed (kelp).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KombuA little bit salty and it's good to drink with hot water and also you can use for cooking!! It makes good flavor:)
When I came here, I was so surprised that everyone was drinking Kombucha. Because I thought it's seaweed drink... But it wasn't. When I tried Kombucha here for the first time, I was shocked... Because I knew it's not Japanese Kobucha but still I was expecting a little bit salty taste... lol and that taste was a little bit sour and bubbly...
But I love to find this kind of similar word (sounds) in different language....
For example, last week my co-worker told me "he's going back home" in Spanish.
And that day was really heavy rain. So I thought he's talking about umbrella. Like "I'm taking umbrella to go home..." If you know both Spanish and Japanese maybe you will guess what I'm talking about.
"Casa=house" in Spanish and "Kasa=umbrella" in Japanese. I know he doesn't talk Japanese but sometimes I'm surprised that some words have same sounds but different meaning... :)
And when I find these things we share language and laugh a lot:) My favorite moment♥
