Party in the back yard

Yesterday I went to the party of one of Chef of my cooking school.
He just got baby a few months ago. It was really nice to see their happiness!!
And also it was really good to see my friends from cooking school too!!
Good food, nice talking, perfect weather with amazing people:)
I am so lucky to spend wonderful time with them...:)

Our Memorial day... not beach but kind of beach...

I was gonna go to Jones beach today with one of my lovely friends Claire.
But when I woke up today it was raining and storm. So we gave up going to beach and went back to sleep but when I got up from second sleep, it was beautiful weather....
So I and Claire decided to pretend we were in beach... lol
And it came out really fun and nice day.... :)

This is the bar in Williamsburg. Surf Bar.

Am I in the beach?
Their floor is with sand like a beach.

And after that we went to East River State Park.
Which has nice Manhattan view and wave from the river like ocean...
Many people were wearing bikini like in the beach.

Then when we went back to the Bedford Ave we found cute bakery called "Bakeri".
They have Norwegian bakery.
They had bread, some sweets and good coffee:)
I loved this place!!!
And owner had cute dog too...

After we had great day,  we took different direction of subway.

And I found the guy was hitting on her!!

But it didn't work.... lol
Actually it was just my imagination and the guy was just throwing his trash away to trash can...
But picture is really interesting because how to take the picture can make different story:) lol

Where will this path be connected??

When I saw this path in Prospect Park I just took a picture automatically but I feel something special to this picture now.
I know where this path is connected because I walked here many times.
But when someone drew this decoration, I think this path became something special.

Finally summer has come!!!

This days off I could enjoy weather at last.
The difference of highest temperature between Monday and Tuesday was 10 degree (C)!!!
And I think finally summer has come to NY!!!!!!!

And yesterday I found really cool thing on the High Line Park.
http://www.thehighline.org/
I think I talked about here before but they are improving!!!
What I found here yesterday is small water place with some benches.
So we could enjoy water with bear feet with sitting on the bench.
This reminded me Japanese feet bath (Ashiyu)... lol
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashiyu
And after enjoyed the water just dry the feet on the other benches which has no water.
That was nice time to spend my day off:)
Last summer they didn't have this place and now they are on the construction for extension of park...
I can't wait to see how they will be changed!!!

This was so comfy!!!

And I met "Ponyo"!!!
"Splash, splash!!"
She was enjoying this water the most!!! :)

And after play with water there is benches on dry space so you can just dry your feet before you put your shoes on.

Cupcake class at Butter Lane Cupcake

I had a chance to get cupcake class at Butter Lane Cupcake the other day.
It was interesting to learn the different way to make cupcakes and how to have a class.
The texture, taste, ingredients, many things were different from One Girl Cookies and also what I do by myself.
Also there were many people who was familiar to baking and also opposite people in the class.
But still everyone enjoyed the same class.
In the future I want to have cupcake classes so I learned a lot from this one class.
And there was frosting contest and I got the coupon for 1/2 dozen of cupcakes!!! lol

Volunteering at Brooklyn Brewery for Edible Brooklyn Event

Last night I went to Brooklyn Brewery for Edible Brooklyn Event "How to ... bake!!".
It was first time to help them as a volunteer.
http://www.ediblemanhattan.com/events/edible-brooklyns-how-to-bake/
But it was lecture event so I did not much... lol
So I helped venders a little bit, got some signing up for news letters and was sitting at the reception.
It was funny because I was always doing same things when I was working at Le Cordon Bleu in Japan.
So I was comfortable to be there... :)
And after that I just enjoyed the event.
What I really enjoyed is meeting new people!!
Going to event as a customer is really fun too but I think it's much easier to talk to chefs and staffs of Edible Brooklyn... :)

He's the cat of Brooklyn Brewery.
His name is "Monster"..... what a cute monster... :)

Nest event advertisement.

Many pretzels....

breads....

And short bread...

When I was on my way. It was pouring rain so I got plastic bag from Brewery to put my bread in.
But maybe everyone in subway thought I had beer in the bag... lol

And I had this bread today which was really good!!!
