Black Swan

Today I saw "Black Swan".
When first time I saw the trailer, I thought it was too scary to see for me.
And after I heard about the movie from a friend of mine who saw it already, I decided not to see.
Because I thought it was way too tense for me.
I don't know why but today I felt like going to movie.
And after work I went to the movie theater near me.
And Black swan was just gonna start... so I went to naturally...

And the movie started. From the first till the end... I couldn't breath. Sometimes I covered my eyes with my hands. And Natalie Portman made me into the movie.
She was too good. I can't sleep tonight maybe. Still my heart beat is making weird sound.. lol
I think I'm gonna see another new one  of Natalie Portman soon...
It must be fun to see her in completely different movie!! :)

And also before the movie they played the trailer of "The Adjustment Bureau".
When I saw it, it reminded me that I saw shooting of this movie at Union Square last year.
So I think I should see this one too even it's not my favorite kind of movie... lol

P.S.  I saw movie today with movie ticket from Costco.
Which was $15 for two tickets.
I can use them only at Regal movie theater but if you have Regal group theater around you, it's good to use them:)
You know, we don't have Lady's day like in Japan. So it's good to have discount tickets!! :)

Snow snow snow!!!

From yesterday we had a lot of snow in NY.
And in this morning when I went to work around 6:30 it was beautiful outside because still not many people walked on the snow. It was fun to make my foot print everywhere:)

When I was stepping down the stairs I couldn't see the last step because of the snow and I fall down...:( But the snow was so soft and I didn't get hurt but it was cold!!! lol

How can I use this trash can??

This one too... lol

Morimoto

Today I had a day off so I went to Morimoto for lunch because now it's restaurant week!!!
http://www.morimotorestaurant.com/

There were three kinds of bento boxes wagyu beef, black cod and vegetable for restaurant week menu. So I chose wagyu beef one.
I went there by myself so I could seat on counter table. It means I could see some sushi chefs were making sushi.
It was fun to see them because their hand moving was so fast and I could tell they were professional!! But they looked all Japanese but everyone was speaking in English which was funny for me. Maybe they grew up in US.
Anyway, while waiting for my bento box, I saw their work and I expected so much for my lunch box but that bento box was not that great.... unfortunately. I'm so sorry to say this but everything was too salty for me even miso soup and grilled wagyu so it was difficult to feel the taste of ingredients by themselves... and tempura had cheese dipping sauce and that killed the taste of tempura... sushi was good though...
Maybe I felt this way because I'm Japanese and I expected Japanese food so I should not tell this but it was not what I expected...:(
Dessert was green tea panna cotta and this was good!! But I didn't need coffee maple syrup sauce...
Green tea should not be together with coffee flavor...
I must be annoying customer... lol
And after lunch I asked green tea. In Japan even in US, tea is free most of the time at Japanese restaurant but after I got check, I found it was $8... lol

I didn't have chance to try Japanese restaurant in New York so when many friends asked me where is good Japanese restaurant I couldn't answer them. Still I can't answer them either but I learned many things today.

I think if I go to Morimoto again and just order a la carte menu then it would be different and they must have many good dishes. So you should not judge them with my blog. This is just my tiny opinion...
So if you have chance to go there or already went there, let me know your impression!!!
The atmosphere of restaurant and staff were so nice:)

Good Spirits by Edible Manhattan @ Le Poisson Rouge

Tonight I went to the event of cocktail paring with food at Le Poisson Rouge.
Edible Manhattan http://www.ediblemanhattan.com/
They had many booths and all of them had small plate of food and cocktails.
It was so fun to try many different kinds of food and drink little by little.
I thought I would not be full with those small things but after we tried them my stomach was so full and felt so good with right amount of alcohol.
They also had tea and coffee too. So we finished with tea and coffee...
My favorite friends joined me tonight too so we ate, drank, took pictures, talk, talk and talk... lol
This is one of my favorite things to do.
Ahhhh, why food can make me this much happy...
And I'm so happy that I could share this happy moment with Sachiko and Claire!! You made tonight much more fun!! Thanks for coming:)
