Okonomiyaki night

We had okonomiyaki night the other day at my coworker's apartment.
We went to Sunrise Mart before that and got some ingredients like thinly sliced pork which is important for Okonomiyaki.
Always I really enjoy to introduce Japanese food but this okonomiyaki is really special!!
I made maybe 10 okonomiyaki that night but everyone liked them:)
And after that we made matcha green tea milk shake for dessert which was good too.
While we were cooking and eating I was playing Japanese music too.

It was really interesting and fun night:)
Thank you, Mary for this opportunity. And let's do another food night soon!!

Junoon NYC

I went to restaurant Junoon yesterday for lunch.
http://www.junoonnyc.com/
It was on 24th street close to Madison Square Park.
The restaurant was so big and so beautiful!! I think it was good for wedding party!!
They had prix fix lunch course.
This was really fancy Indian food. And I really enjoyed it.
I would love to go back when I want more Indian food!!
Thank you, Chisato-san for taking me there!!

This soup was so interesting. The pumpkin seeds oil was really strong but flavorful. It was the border of dessert soup and savory soup...

This is piri piri shrimp.
It was just amazing.

For Entree, they served like this. Isn't it cool??

The dessert was also good. This was caramel chocolate tart.

This was cardamom ice cream. It was so refreshing.

The NoMad

The other day I had chance to go to new restaurant in The NoMad hotel.
Thank you so much Yoko-san for taking me there!!
It was really nice lunch and fun talking!!

All the name of menus are just name of main ingredients. It was hard to imagine the plates but it was fun.

We were the first customer for lunch but after us many people came one by one.

This bread was so soft and so good!!

This was appetizer... "egg"... lol
It was poached egg but it wasn't just a poached egg...
The texture of everything made it something so special.
Crunchy quinoa, sweet soft asparagus, melting poached egg and hollandaise sauce.
This is the magic of cooking!!

This is one of entree.
Roasted carrots but not only carrots "again"...
Crispy Duck skin made it flavorful. It was really interesting.

And the lobster!!! This was just so perfect!! The meat of lobster was so soft but has good texture... it means fresh and heated just perfect!! And the veggies were so sweet and shiny...

Once a year, I'm so happy that I didn't miss this year!!!
Still it"s funny to see all the blossoms and leaves together though...
And these leaves made me want to eat Sakuramochi!!!
I miss it so much:)

Cherry Blossoms in Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Yesterday I went to Brooklyn Botanic Garden. It was really beautiful day but the cherry blossoms were weird. Most of them were not peak yet but already many trees had green leaves with many buds. I think next week will be peak but it's gonna be interesting to see green and pink full bloomed cherry blossoms trees. I'm worried about this weird weather... I hope these pretty cherry blossoms forever!!!
