Bastille Day Festival

There was Bastille Day Festival yesterday in Brooklyn. It was held just in front of our pastry shop and close to my house. So we were busy for getting ready for this festival last weekend even we were American Pastry shop:) And it was much bigger than I expected.
There were petanque fields and they had a big tournament there. Also there was skate board contest. Mix of French and American I like that!! And there were many good food and drinks. Everybody was drinking Ricard Ricard Ricard.... And talk talk talk in great music:)
When I didn't speak French, I almost got guillotine in the middle of street... lol
Je vais parler en francais donc ne coupes pas ma tete!!

先日近所でフランス建国記念日のフェスティバルが行われました。

お店の真ん前ということもあり、アメリカンペーストリーのお店ですが、先週末より着々と準備をしてきました。

規模は思った以上に大きく、ペタンク競技場が道にでき、お昼より予選が始まり夜の決勝まで盛り上がっていました。またスケートボードコンテストも隣で行われ、フランスとアメリカの混合具合が絶妙でした。そしてみんな食べて飲んでしゃべってしゃべって。。。素敵な音楽とともに暑い１日はあっという間に過ぎて行きました。

しかしフランス語をしゃべらなかったともうすぐでギロチンにあうところでした。

危ない危ない…。

Who wanna learn Japanese??

I was talking with my American friend about English education in Japan the other day.
When someone ask Japanese people "How are you?" and probably most of us Japanese will answer "I'm fine thank you, and you?"
Don't you think so? Because we learn this conversation and "This is a pen." for the first step for English. lol
So when I came here, I was surprised everyone doesn't answer "I'm fine thank you"... lol
Most of them answer just "Good!! Thank you" and they say once again "How are YOU?" ...
Haha, learning language with text book is good but sometimes it can't explain real language...
Is this the same for studying Japanese in U.S.A?
But how about this text book? Who wanna try??

先日アメリカ人の友達と日本の英語教育について話していました。
もし誰かが"How are you?" って聞いたとすると、おそらく多くの日本人が "I'm fine thank you, and you?"って答えるよっていう話です。
そう思いませんか？最初に英語で習ったのは、これと"This is a pen."でしょうか？
なのでこちらに来てから、あまりに"I'm fine thank you" を聞かないのには驚きました。
たいてい、"Good!! Thank you"で終わらせてしまうか、そのあとに、"How are YOU?"そしてあなたはどうかしら？というかんじで聞くのです。
それは日本にいるときはどのテキストにも載っていなかった気がするな〜。
やはりナマの英語を学ぶのは難しいものですね。
でも、こちらで日本語を勉強するって言うのはどうなんでしょうか？
