Untitled at Whitney Museum

I went to the cafe in Whitney Museum the other day.

It was the casual cafe which is one of Danny Meyer's group.
I tried their burger to see how different from Shake Shack:)
And it was different and good especially the bread!!
Then before I left I found the black board next to counter and there was the map of what is from which shop in NYC!! So I checked and I found that the bread was from scratchbread in Brooklyn which I just wrote about the other day.

And their dessert was from Betty bakery which is just close to One Girl Cookies and also from Four and Twenty Blackbirds which is close to my apt and  I went the day before to have their pie.

Also coffee was from Stumptown roaster which we use at One Girl Cookies.
All the shops were here at Untitled... it was so funny!!
But when they served coffee with cute small bottle, even it's the same coffee that I always drink at work but I enjoyed more. I like this kind of tiny idea:)

先日と言ってもずいぶん前になりますが、お友達とホイットニー美術館の地下にあるUntitledというカフェに行ってきました。
ダニーメイヤーグループの１つという事で、どんなだろうと思っていましたが、カジュアルなのんびりできるカフェでした。シェイクシャックのバーガーが出てきたらどうしようなんて言いながらバーガーを頼みましたが、パンが特においしかったです。
とそんなことを思っていたところ、カウンターの横に黒板があり、そこに何がニューヨークのどこのお店から来ているかが書かれているのを発見！！
パンは先日ブログでご紹介したスクラッチブレッドからでした。
おいしいはずだ！！
そして、よく見るとデザートもワンガールのご近所さん、ベティーベーカリーと、ちょうど前日にパイを食べに行っていた、家のご近所のパイ屋さんfour and twenty blackbirdsから、またまたコーヒーはワンガールでいつも使っているスタンプタウンロースターのものでした。私の周りのお店たちが一気に集結したようなカフェであった事を発見し、なんともおかしい気分になりました。
でもいつも飲んでるコーヒーでも小さな瓶に入って出てくると、ちょっと雰囲気が変わってよかったです。こういうちょっとした演出いいですよね〜！！

New cafe "Gather" in Park Slope

The other day I found a new cafe on 7th Ave in Park Slope.

I couldn't tell from the outside but this place was unique since they sell savory food by weight like Japanese "depachika" and they said they make everything fresh and good quality everyday. The price was like RF1 in Japan. And you can take home or eat there at the table. But there are only 4-5 small tables. It was between lunch and dinner time so I just tried their soup and it was really good.
Also they serve Kusmi tea and it was also good:)
This time I didn't try any baked goods but will do next time.
This was the first time to see this type of cafe in NY. Most of the place in US the portion is too big for me so if I can buy by weight maybe it's good for me. And less waste!! So I think I liked it but how everyone think in Park Sope... ?

先日たまたま７thアベニューを歩いていたところ、新しいカフェができているのを発見しました。「ギャザー」という名前のかわいいお店です。
メニューを見ただけではよくわからなかったのですが、ここのおもしろいところはセーバリーのお料理を量り売りで売っているところ。そこのカフェで食べてもいいし、お持ち帰りも出来ます。材料などにはかなりこだわっているということでしたが、これが高いのか安いのか、なんともよくわかりませんでした。1/4パウンドの値段がすべて書いてあったのですが、日本で言うRF1とかとおなじくらいかな〜と言う感じです。
今回はスープを頼んでみましたが、とってもおいしかったです。ついているバゲットがもう少し大きいとうれしいですけど。
またもちろん焼き菓子系もあったので、次回はそれも試してみようと思います。
またフランスのお茶Kusmi teaを出しており、私は気に入りました。
まだオープンしたてで、スタッフの人たちもまだ学び中といったところでしたが、私としては、ちょこっとだけ頼む事ができる量り売り制度は他のカフェと違っていいのかなあと思います。このスタイルがパークスロープでウケるのかどうか、どうなんでしょう。今後が楽しみです。

Maison Kayser in NYC

Today finally I could try Maison Kayser.
Always I wanted to try but it was a bit far from my home so it had never happened.

There were two cute bicycles for delivery in front of the shop.
There are many places delivering by bicycles but it was first time to see to have their own bicycles.
I see many trucks or cars with their names and logos though.
It's good advertisement!! Nice idea:)
And because of my friend had a baby, we could seat back corner where was just in front of the kitchen.
So we could see all the baking breads there. It was so fun to see all the breads are sliding into the oven and coming out from there with golden color!!
Of course the bread was so good and other menus that we ordered were all good too!!
Especially I really liked their onion gratin soup!! Yum!!
And lobster pasta with shimeji mushroom was so good too:)
Also Eclair... the cream was cold and soft, melted in my mouth. ummmm :)
It worth traveling all the way Upper East side.
And I need to try their croissant next time!! I was too full to try more food... lol

今日はとうとうメゾンカイザーをトライすることができました。
オープンしたと聞いてから何度も行こうと試みましたが、家から遠いこともありなかなか実現せず。。。
予定より少し早めに着いたのですが、お店の前にはかわいいオレンジ色の自転車が。デリバリー用なのでしょう。なんでもデリバリーされるニューヨークでは欠かせません。
けれどお店用にペイントされた自転車は初めてみたような。かなり目立ってましたから効果大ですね。
一緒にランチをしたお友達が赤ちゃん連れということもあり、お店の奥の席をゆったりと使わせてもらうことができましたが、なんといっても、そこがキッチンの真ん前。大きな釜が目の前にあり、食事中、ずっとその中のオーブンに何度も何度もバゲットやらフォカッチャやらがスライドされて行き、しばらくするときれいな焼き色とともに出てくる。
私たちに取っては特等席でした。
そして食事ですが、もちろんパンはおいしいし、他のお料理も美味！！
けれどそのなかでもオニオングラタンスープはとっても甘くておいしかったです。
チーズがたっぷりなのに、しつこくなく、久々に食べたのもあり、大満足でした！！
そしてロブスターのパスタもクリーミーでとっても濃厚なお味。しめじも久々に食べたので、それもまた気に入りました。
そしてお腹はいっぱいだったのですが、やはりデザートもトライしておかないとと言う事で、エクレアを試しましたが、中のクリームは思ったよりさっぱりしていて、満腹にも関わらず、問題なく食べれてしまいました。
ちょっと家からは遠かったですが、行く価値ありですね。
今度はクロワッサン系を試してみたいと思います！！

They have both sweets and savories.
And cafe space was so big!! It was surprising to have that much space in NYC!!
The sweet crepe was really chewy like they were using rice flower for it... (I'm not sure just guessing)
And we were talking about that reminded us "Yatsuhashi" which is Japanese pastry in Kyoto. haha
Also for savory crepe, I could add egg on top when you ask them. It made it more appetite!! :)
And their almond croissant was so good too!!
I took home and had later but that was what I like!!
It was late afternoon but there were many kids with their parents and having hot chocolate and doing homework... it was funny to see how luxury homework time they had!!

先日お友達がとってもかわいいカフェに連れて行ってくれました。

店内は紫色にまとめられ、広々。あまりの広さに少しびっくりしてしまいました。
メニューには、甘いものからセーバリーのものまであり、
ランチからお茶までなんでも出来そうでした。
私たちはクレープを注文しましたが、甘い方は小麦粉ではなく米粉か餅粉でもつかっているんじゃないかというくらいもっちりしていて、八つ橋みたいと言っていたほどでした。
けれど、なかなか病み付きになるおいしさ！！
私は甘くないクレープを注文しましたが、卵を別オーダーで乗せてくれて、さらに食欲をそそられました。そして帰りにはアーモンドクロワッサンを買って帰りましたが、それも美味！！
私たちがいた時間は午後遅かったのですが、学校帰りの子供たちがお母さんたちと一緒にホットチョコレートを飲みながら宿題をしたり、なんとも優雅な勉強時間を過ごしている様子がおかしかったです。さすがアッパーウエストサイド！！笑

My friend took me there and we had chocolate fondu there.
It was fun to make burn on marshmallows and dip into chocolate.
You can choose 3 kinds of chocolate from milk, dark, caramel and white.
So you can try many flavors with many ingredients.
It will be good desserts in cold winter in NYC!!!

ニューヨークの寒い冬、どこかでディナーを食べた後、みんなでシェアするデザートにはばっちりです。

Four & Twenty Blackbirds in Brooklyn

I heard this place many times before and it's so close to my apartment but I didn't have chance to go there for long time but one of heavy rainy day. I craved to sweets and finally I decided to go there.
Only a few blocks walk, and I could get there. Even rainy day it was crowded.

I heard when you go there around 4pm always the pies are sold out!!
I tried salted caramel apple pie.
Not too sweet but a little bit too much salt for me but it was very good.
And this cafe gave me many ideas.
In NY there are so many types of cafes and they have many different of ways to run cafes so see the cafe, pastries, kitchen always give me inspiration!!
Ummmm, now I started to crave sweets again!!!
